I have to applaud the filmmakers for their efforts. Taping live animals and creating a story out of their reactions must have been tough. This isn't like Babe where they attached atrocious moving mouths to live animals, this is basically just voice-over attached. Again, I applaud the efforts, but the story was a bit suspect and the voice acting was very subpar. It's ZE-BRAS not zeb-rahs. Anyway, not the greatest kids movie (my daughters were very bored with it 30 minutes in), but not the worst.

The lack of features was disappointing though. There could have been so much to tell!

Movies

The Film/Show The film was a bit of taping animals reactions, editing and putting a story together. Probably incredibly tough.
Presentation It was standard for DVD and the 5.1 surround was good. Necessary? Probably not.

I really like the movie, I didn't think I would. I know that action films, especially late in the summer, tend to be on the lame side. I regret not seeing this in the movie theater, but am more than happy that I experienced it the second go around on Blu-ray. Action packed, scary and containing a good set of features to sport.

You'll want to keep an Eye on this one and check it out (Yes, I went there).

Movies

The Film/Show A great action film that will entertain you from beginning to end.
Presentation Just a fantastic way to present visuals and audio.
Extra Features A great set of features, sans the boring one.

The movie, like I said before, is a good film. It slows in the middle, but still has a great concept and it delivers a good conclusion. The features compliment it and are equally as entertaining.

Movies

The Film/Show It's a good movie, not great. It gets to the point at the beginning, but seems to slow in the middle. What it concludes to is touching, but the middle drags it down a bit.
Presentation What you would expect from a DVD.
Extra Features A good set of features, but not in HD.

The film is good, it should be at least watched by curious readers of this review. I think the Blu-ray aspect is a bit disappointing, though I can't complain that it does look and sound good. I wanted more special features, it's the biggest thing that disappointed me. With that said, let me reiterate that Ghost Town is good. It deserves your attention.

Presentation Fantastic picture for a Blu-ray! I've seen better transfer, but this is still good. It's not the Dark Knight. Audio is fantastic.
Extra Features The features for the DVD and Blu-ray are the same, with the exception that the Blu-ray version are in HD. I wanted just a bit more on the Blu-ray, more than the DVD.

Again, Tony Scott has done the unthinkable... he has made a movie about cars going in large circles look interesting and dramatic. You may think I'm joking, but it's true. Never have I seen a NASCAR film (which are far and few between, the last dramatic one I have seen is Stroker Ace) that really gives you the full view of the NASCAR scene (even if it's not true).

If you haven't seen it, see it. Regardless of how other people feel about it, it's still worthy of your attention (at least once).

Movies

The Film/Show Classic film, in the sense of Tony Scott classics, where the music is overdramatized and the sport of NASCAR looks cooler than it really is.
Presentation Good presentation, it scared me to death with the opening credits started. The video was horrendous, but as soon as the film started it all looked great in HD. The sound of NASCARs speeding around a track is still in my head.
Extra Features None. What the heck?

I think this movie is average, nothing superb. Anna Faris is cute and funny, but just not believable in a leadership role with the personality that was written for her. I think that the story itself could have a solid base to it, but it doesn't. Happy Madison production should start developing stronger storylines underneath their comedy and stop looking at the comedy first.

With that said, at least give it a rent if you're looking for something funny. It's worth a rent, at least. If you love Anna Faris' work though, buy this blu-ray.

Movies

The Film/Show I think the movie had funny moments, but that is pretty much the film... funny moments. With a shaky story and unbelievable turn of events in that story, it was hard to say this is a great film. Anna Faris should seriously start thinking about films with a dramatic backdrop and break away from these comedies.
Presentation Fantastic presentation. You'll love the video and audio. Especially the video (does that make me a bad person?)
Extra Features A good set of features that give you a lighter side to the film and bit more insight into it.

The first feature of The X-Files is a good one. It's not as spectacular as most fans were hoping, but it did help the series a lot, especially during the last season. The fact that it's on Blu-ray makes it even that much better. Packed with tons of features and some fantastic visuals/audio, you won't regret the purchase if you're an X-Files fan.

If you are thinking about becoming an X-Files fan, start with the series first, otherwise it could get confusing.

Movies

The Film/Show A good film that left more questions than answers. Good stuff though.
Presentation A beautiful film in HD, even after 10 years. Your ears and eyes will thank you.

I just can't say enough about how disappointed I am with this movie. I felt like maybe it was rushed, maybe they didn't have enough material, maybe (just maybe) the actors and actresses were just going through the motions, I'm not sure. What I am sure is that this is not a good story and it didn't work as well as the first feature.

Thankfully, the bonus features are great and the presentation value of this Blu-ray is fantastic. That might be enough for some X-Files fans to fit this movie on the shelf, but I'm not sure.

Form your own opinion, please let me know.

Movies

The Film/Show I am just lost for words. I expected so much more than this. I would love to see an independent episode, but this isn't the one. It would have been better to go back to the main storyline and the impending invasion.
Presentation Gorgeous! It looks outstanding on Blu-ray. Something about blacks/whites on HD, they just stand out more than any other colors. Give me a snowy environment and dark shadows any day of the week. Add that to fantastic audio.
Extra Features Three-hours of extra features that add more insight to the confusion of the movie. It's a great set of features, something that will satisfy the X-Files fan in you.

While I certainly couldn't see myself, as a parent, leaving my child at home while I'm off on a trip, I could see someone doing it by accident. Having to do a head count before school and after school is a must in my household. It's a parental instinct that drives this paranoia and also the release of this film. Anyway, Home Alone is a true classic that is good for any household. It looks great/timeless on Blu-ray and brings the goods as it is advertised.

Excellent release and a must-have.

Movies

The Film/Show Fantastic Christmas film. A must-have if you don't own it (or even if you do).
Presentation It looks gorgeous on Blu-ray, perfect HD.
Extra Features A good amount of features, something that adds to an already great film.

Old School, in my mind, will be the movie that showed that Will Ferrell belongs in films and that Vince Vaughn can do comedy really well. Outside of those things, the story is funny, witty and always moving. With all of this coming to Blu-ray, with some very good features, you can't deny yourself this pleasure.

I recommend it, if not only for the movie itself on Blu-ray.

Movies

The Film/Show The comedy is just classic! It's one of the better, more intelligent, comedies of the 2000's. It's not stupid, it's stupid intelligent. Tough to explain, but it rates up there with Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein, but not above them. Fantastic to watch, though.
Presentation A really great transfer to HD with good audio coming with it.
Extra Features The same you'll get on the unrated version of the DVD, but plenty here to entertain regardless.
