This movie is a fine wine—better with time because we have more fodder for mocking our late nineties trends. For every character, you’ll be throwing popcorn at the screen and shouting “I KNEW that kid!” Actually, I saw one that made me think I WAS that kid…but I’ll not name any names. ;) A good, lighthearted film that still holds true to the most fundamental school stereotypes.

Only the second greatest American movie of all time? I call for a revote!! If you've made it this far without seeing any of these films (and I can't imagine how that would be possible), I demand that you purchase this collection today. Family values and romance are mixed in with business ventures and vengeance-seeking to make these films compelling enough for everyone. Also note the use of orange as both a fruit and a color throughout all three chapters of the saga. You are invited…to his daughter's wedding…and this really is an offer you can't refuse!!

Is “Child’s Play,” at its core, a 1980s conspiracy by major manufacturing companies to keep you paying high prices and undermine the reputations of pre-Ebay discount sellers? Possibly. Was it effective in scaring the crap out of me when I saw clips of the film, as well as commercials for My Buddy dolls, during my elementary school days? Absolutely. There is no shame in a night light. Also note my two favorite elements: Chucky’s hairline recedes throughout the course of the film, and he’s pimped out his killing knife.

Splendid! This film stirs the dormant filmmaker...andblood brother...in all of us. To those fans of "Goonies" and "Stand By Me," here's another original coming-of-age film without which no library is complete! |

Certainly a departure from Chow's previous releases, but nonetheless a welcome addition to his resume of films. He truly defines how entertaining a family film can be.

Lighthearted and predictable, this isn’t a groundbreaking comedic performance for anyone involved, but it’s enjoyable nonetheless. Especially for those going into the lower end of the totem pole of high school this fall. With a few of the language choices and suggestive scenes (no skin, Mom), it makes the PG-13 mark, but I’ve seen cruder on all counts. (Professionally, of course.)

This dynamic cast brings to life the hardships of the 81,000+ troops that have been stop-lossed in the current war. Stop-Loss is a film that trades much of the graphic imagery usually depicted in modern war movies for the horrific mental torture that warfare creates within each soldier. While not the blazing adventure story that has dominated the box office this summer, this movie will strike a much deeper chord within the audience, bringing the major questions of our military policy to the fore. With 650,000 soldiers having served in Iraq and Afghanistan since 9/11, these are issues we can’t afford to ignore.
