Dark Horizon impressed me; it has a few flaws, sure, but it's a very respectable space combat title with some nice RPG elements.

Videogames

Gameplay A bit of a learning curve really pays off as you begin to get comfortable customizing your ship and taking it to The Mirk.
Presentation The graphics are very good and glitch free for the most part. The sound package is mostly good, but the effects seemed too quiet and subdued. I liked the voiceovers and the soundtrack.
Value This will be available on GamersGate for $30, and at that price it's a reasonable deal. Twenty-two missions will keep players busy for a good ten to twelve hours.
Fun Factor Dark Horizon does a fine job of making a space combat game reasonably accessible. Once you get used to things around the second or third mission, it's a lot of fun working with your allies to fight back against The Mirk.
