Ever since I first played “Super Black Bass” Pro fishing game asa kid, I’ve been hooked (pun only moderately intended) on fishing games forhome gaming consoles. That was a time when I finally convinced my Dad thatvideo games could be fun, and I think the only time I can remember that heactually played a game more than I did. (We only rented it, so this was bad atthe time, but I still have fond memories!) Fast forward years later, and I still love to fish and still love to play fishing games. The Nintendo Wii seems like a great platform for a fishing game... but how does Sega Bass Fishing stack up?

If you’re reading this review you’re no doubt a fan of theYu-Gi-Oh series, but in case you’re not… and happen to just be very bored, I’llgive you a brief synopsis.
The world of Yu-Gi-Oh capitalizes on the idea that kids liketo collect, trade, and compete. Spinning off the idea of Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh usesmonsters that only come out when “played” as a card in a dueling tournament.Opponents use different combinations of cards to win (think the strategy game“Magic the Gathering” meeting Pokemon, and you’re pretty much on board withYu-Gi-Oh).

Surviving on a deserted island can be tough work. Just watch any movie or show such as Castaway or Lost and you’ll get the idea. But, despite what the movies tell you, doing so in real life is even more difficult. If you don’t have the correct knowledge or skills to make tools, find food, and create a shelter, you’re in bad shape.

After over 30 years of videogame production, it seems as if truly original (and successful) genres are becoming harder to come by. And though unique gameplay ideas are becoming harder to conspire on traditional consoles, newer tactics have been implemented in the current generation in order to further innovate on game design. For instance, online play on both the handheld and console scene has taken gaming to new horizons and new controls such as the Wii-mote and DS touch screen have created new ways to experience games (and new ideas for developers).

What can be said about Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction? Without a doubt it's probably one of the best games of 2007. And I realize that this review is late, which I don't mind, but for those of you who have been hankering for a bit of action, destruction and thinking, then look no further than this game.

If there is one genre that Nintendo has paved the way for in this current generation of handhelds and consoles, it’s puzzle games. With the unprecedented control schemes of both the DS and the Wii, Nintendo has succeeded in providing the perfect platforms for puzzling perfection. And though the Wii hasn’t seen many puzzlers to date, the genre thrives on the DS. From Meteos to Picross DS, puzzling has hit a new level of functionality on Nintendo’s household handheld.

Most sports games are good but notgreat. There are small things that have been added throughout the years toenhance the overall experience. The problem has always been that there havebeen many upgrades but many downgrades. For example: it always seems as if thecreators spend too much time on making the stadiums looking more lifelike andthe player’s features and movements don’t improve from the previous year, andof course vice-versa.

Sony Computer Entertainment's Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom marks an early attempt at utilizing the Playstation 3 to put together a memorable experience to anchor it's early game lineup. Though it’s not terrible, Untold Legends (UL) does not offer up a next-gen experience per se. But with all things considered, it certainly is an experience worth playing.

The premise is simple. Jackass is filming a new season when their director is hurt during another of the crew's infamous stunts, so it's your job to step in and make sure the boys make idiots and spectacles of themselves as usual. Can you put together enough broken bones, half-naked dance moves and fart-joke wisecracks to pass in this surprisingly good new installment of Jackass?

No doubt if you are reading this review, you have played at least one of the Soul Calibur (or Soul Edge) games in the long running franchise. I have a deep appreciation for how the franchise has grown over the years, having first fallen in love with Soul Calibur on the Sega Dreamcast my freshmen year of college.

Sega Rally Revo brings arcade rally racing to the Xbox 360. Fast and intense racing around some nice looking tracks develops a nice racing experience.

Andrew Ryan dreamed of a city of ideals, a city safe from the meddling of government and religion, a city for artists and thinkers. A staunch capitalist idealist, Ryan built Rapture at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean and brought many of the brightest people of the world to this new way of life, where they would live free from the effect of “parasites” who drag them down from their true potential.
