On the fateful night when ace teen detective Jimmy Kudo was attacked by two mysterious strangers and forced to ingest a poison, he was on a date with his sweetheart Rachel Moore at a popular theme park. Now, when a horrific murder has shocked Rachel into amnesia, he must solve the mystery as quickly as possible before the murderer returns to eliminate her as a loose end. As Rachel tries to recover her memories, will she be able to see past Conan’s disguise, and does he even want her to? When a return to the theme park might spark Rachel’s memories, can they risk a return with the killer still on the loose?

Jimmy Kudo is just your average high-school detective: brilliant, popular, and on the fast track to success. Even the police department don’t hesitate to call him in on their toughest cases! However, when an attempt to thwart a crime (while on a date with his probably-sweetheart Rachel Moore) finds him at odds with a mysterious duo, they poison him to eliminate witnesses. Fortunately, the poison was apparently untested, and Jimmy didn’t die. Unfortunately, his body has shrunk to that of a grade-schooler, and he must conceal his identity to protect himself and those around him. Will the world’s greatest new detective be able to solve cases as child prodigy Conan Edogawa?

The mystery had to begin somewhere for Scooby-Doo and so it begins with this story.

I finally got DirecTV this past year and found what I had always been missing: TCM. If you're not familiar with TCM it stands for Turner Classic Movies (as in Ted Turner) and you get nothing but great classics playing 24 hours. It's basically a better version of what AMC use to be.
Anyway, this month Warner Brothers released the next set in the TCM collection on DVD and this editor could not be more impressed.

The last few weeks, if you've been reading the site (which I hope you have), have been filled with television shows on DVD and blu-ray. I have literally caught up on all the television I missed from 2008-2009. So with that said, Lie to Me is the latest show I had a chance to review on blu-ray and it's certainly giving me some mixed signals.

Sherlock Holmes wasn't the only fictional detective working the cases of Victorian London. Indeed, the Rivals of Holmes were also doing their part to solve the heinous crimes of the time. Acorn Media is set to release a nice four disc box set on September 1st named The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes: Set 1. Time to break out the magnifying glass and take a closer look.

In this fifth season of the incorrigible Jimmy Kudo’s existence as Conan Edogawa, the police department still doesn’t mind a child poking around murder scenes. Which is great, because his incredible mystery-solving aptitude is one of the top reasons each and every murder or crime gets solved. Twenty-four fresh episodes easily provide enough murderous intent to satisfy any fan of Sherlock Holmes. We’ve got them all, from attempted death by arson to serial killers taking revenge for a decade-old crime. Hitch up your short pants, straighten your bow tie and hang on for the ride!

In the current world, the visible sky of stars that doesn’t so much light up the night as correspond with the actions of Contractors, changed humans who gain an awesome power, at a very specific Price. These immoral killers operate just below the surface of the world, and most people are unaware of their existence, despite their acceptance of the changing of the night sky and the dangerous area that appeared outside of Tokyo, known as the Hell Gate. Hei is one such contractor, though he isn’t displaying much of a Contractor’s typical emotionless behavior or immoral mindset. In fact, he seems to be operating on an extremely human task: Finding his lost sister.
