Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce
The long running Dynasty Warriors franchise got its newest entry last week with Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce. Strikeforce has been on PSP for sometime now, but the console version offers a variety of additional features while simultaneously pushing the franchise to new boundaries. In many ways Strikeforce is the same Dynasty Warriors game we've come to know, but fans of the series and newcomers alike should be both pleased, and maybe a little letdown, with what's offered here.

Darksiders
One of my favorite games from last year's E3 was Vigil Games' first major title: Darksiders. This third person action adventure game in the vein of God of War and Devil May Cry casts players as War from the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Darksiders tells a tale of revenge and redemption, packed with violence and a variety of familiar, yet very well implemented, gameplay elements. With only minor issues sustained throughout the entire campaign, Darksiders is my first must-own have of 2010.

Rogue Warrior
Richard "Dick" Marcinko is known as the Rogue Warrior (yes, in real life). A former Navy SEAL, Marcinko is an author and accomplished business man nowadays. I had never heard the name before I began to look into a new game called Rogue Warrior, developed by Rebellion and published by Bethesda Softworks. This very M rated game puts players in the shoes of Marcinko as they single handedly must keep the North Koreans and Russians from 'winning' the Cold War. The action is gritty, the language is incredibly foul, and the game does have a lot of issues -- but I'll be damned if it isn't fun enough to warrant a play through.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
In 2007, Naughty Dog and SCEA blew everyone away with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. The third person action adventure played like a movie, one that you couldn't pull yourself away from and wanted to "watch" again as soon as it was over. No doubt a sequel was on the way, and in the last several months nearly everyone has gotten a taste of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (UC2), thanks to plenty of publicity and the multiplayer beta. This past Tuesday, I managed to get what was probably the last available copy of UC2 in town, and earlier today I completed the campaign. Is it as least as good as the first? Am I ready for more? The answer to both of those questions is a firm, 'hell yes.'

Dexter: The Game
I've been looking forward to Dexter - The Game on the iPhone/iPod since first hearing about it a few months ago. Tonight, the popular Showtime series starts its fourth season, with anticipation spilling over from the fans. The first season is arguably still the best thus far, and it's events from that first season that act as the basis for the missions in The Game. Being familiar with the first season might make for a more rewarding experience, but it isn't required. Having some familiarity with the series is a great idea though, as the characters aren't explained in detail. The question is whether or not this app is something every Dexter fan needs -- and for that, let's take a closer look.

GI Joe Rise of Cobra
GI Joe video games are few and far between. The last one I played was Konami's GI Joe arcade back in '92, and what a fun game that was (is, actually). Now, as Hollywood is set to release the first live action Joe film, developer Double Helix and publisher EA have teamed up to produce the video game based on the movie. It's hard not to roll your eyes at video games based on movies, given their shaky past and cash-in nature, but, as Raven Software proved again with their incredible X-Men Origins: Wolverine game, video games based on movies aren't all bad. On that note, while not as wholly impressive as Wolverine, GI Joe: Rise of Cobra (GI Joe RoC) is still a really fun movie-video game that is at least worth a rental.

Infernal: Hell's Vengeance
In 2007, Playlogic produced Infernal for the PC. This third person action title had gamers in the midst of a battle between Heaven and Hell, but a variety of problems and design decisions kept it a mediocre experience at best. Recently, Playlogic re-released the game for the Xbox 360. Priced at $40, you might expect that not much was done in bringing this to the 360 -- and you'd be right.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game
Red Fly Studios, developers of the well-received Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars for Wii, have released their second title in Ghostbusters: The Video Game. Published by Atari, this third person action adventure has gamers teaming up with the original Ghostbusters crew in an attempt to thwart the plans of a diabolical architect who intends to destroy the earth by building right over top of it.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game
Having been lucky enough to be born in the 70s, I had a great opportunity to experience the 80s at its finest. I remember going to all the Star Wars (even the first -- I was young) and I especially remember going to see Ghostbusters when it first hit the theatrical scene; we won't talk about the sequel in any shape or fashion. Let's forget the second part even happened. Anyway, the movie was huge! It had an amusing story, with a touch of horror, but more importantly it had a phenomenal cast; Murray, Ramis, Aykroyd and Hudson combined to make the best comedic team that fought ghosts even in cinema history. Fast forward nearly thirty years and you've got the re-release of the Blu-ray and the introduction of a new video game.  The best part about the latter? They brought the cast back and the Ramis and Aykroyd penned a story.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Luxoflux and Activision bring us the game based on the new Michael Bay film where the Autobots and Decepticons are battling once again, with the fate of humanity hanging in the balance. It's a quick ride, but how does the new Transformers game fare?

Overlord II
As amusing and interesting as it seemed, and apparently was, I never got around to playing the first Overlord title that came out a couple of years back by Triumph Studios and Codemasters. Several of my gaming friends had played it though, and now with Overlord II in for review, I was able to talk shop with them about this new entry into the series. We've come to agree that Overlord II features more than enough minion commanding action to please most Overlord fans, and it also has everything it needs to pick up a new fan base of gamers who haven't played the original (like me).

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Uncaged Edition)
This isn't your typical movie-to-video-game adaptation; Raven Software gives us the most intense and violent Marvel game to date with everyone's favorite X-Men at the heart of it all...
