W! Games released a new turn based strategy game last week on XBLA and PSN, and it's impressive. The game is Greed Corp, and the goal is to outlast your opponents as the world around you crumbles. A bit confused? I was too, even after the tutorial, but stick with Greed Corp, and it'll stick with you thanks to its addictive and well designed gameplay.

Vandal Hearts was first released on the Playstation in the mid 90s, and was well received. A sequel was made and enjoyed by many, but the series has been quiet until a prequel was just recently released on XBLA and the PSN. Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment is a competent and traditional strategy RPG that should appease fans of the genre who aren't expecting anything more than a typical gameplay experience.

Stormregion (Codename: Panzers series) is back with a new turn based strategy title exclusively for the PSP. Set in the late 23rd century, humans have all but exhausted their resources. The multinational corporation Kondor steps in to help by scouring space for raw materials. The planet Pythar looks to be the key to humanities desperate needs, but the Mytrans have already staked their claim. It's up to you to lead Loki, Eli, and Rachel against the Mytrans in order to save humanity, but you'll also get a chance to control the Mytrans and their heroes in this nicely done turn based title.

Creative Assembly has released a new juggernaut in it's very popular Total War series. In recent years, PC gamers have experienced Total War during Medieval and Roman times, but this time all of the action and strategy takes place during the 18th century, a time of tremendous turmoil for European nations and the Americas.

At last year's E3, I spent a lot more time enjoying Culdcept Saga than I really ever thought I would. It just didn't look like my kind of game, and with the exception of Eye of Judgment, I had never played any kind of game like it before. While I'm not hooked on the idea, and while the game does have its fair share of drawbacks, I was overall pleasantly surprised with Culdcept Saga.

It’s time to roll out the tanks and conquer your opponents again in this latest installment of Advance Wars. But don’t expect more of the same (at least in terms of presentation). This time around, all of the old cast has been dropped, the visuals have been enhanced and the game’s story has become much more serious. Long gone is the light hearted nature of the older games and instead, Intelligent Systems has attempted to create a better, more involved (yet none less fantastical) story.

Level-5 must be doing something right. It's not every day Square-Enix hand picks a (relatively) unknown developer to take the reigns over their most lucrative franchise. Apparently they knew what they were doing; the risk paid off and Dragon Quest VIII was a massive success on both sides of the planet. Level-5's previous effort, Dark Cloud 2, earned a similar amount of critical praise, as did their last PS2 title, the underappreciated Rogue Galaxy. What's really intriguing is that these guys don't seem to be letting up. Even under the banner of different publishers and systems, their small library of titles are completely inundated with quality.
