Cube
PSP puzzle games are a real catch-22.  On one hand you have a genre perfectly suited to pick up and go gameplay, but on the other hand, with it comes an enormous amount of competition.  Puzzlers have saturated the PSP library, second only to sports games in terms of individual titles.  Today, a remarkably distinctive experience is just as important as the depth of the gameplay behind it.  The much touted Gunpey was fresh but ultimately fizzled with critics, where as Crush came out of nowhere and was instantly adored by the PSP community.  It's a fine line, one that Cube no doubt aspires to correctly walk.  We've seen countless shifting block games, but few with an added third dimension.  For a game that involves no stacking, how does it stack up?

Dead Head Fred
When was the last time your interest in a game was conceived upon seeing the game’s title?  Consider that question carefully.  In the been there, done that age of franchises, sequels, collections, and ports, how many new games actually sound like game you want to play?  I didn't know what to say when Dead Head Fred appeared in my review pile, but, thankfully, the back of the box placed everything on the table, "A classic tale of murder, corruption, revenge...AND INTERCHANGEABLE HEADS!"  Apparently this wasn't a joke; Vicious Cycle actually produced an action/platformer where the main character rips off his own head and trades it out for a new one.  Frequently.  "Oh my god," I thought, "I need to play this."  Because I have to review it, that wasn't an option, but at least I'd figure out if the gameplay was as ambitious and pleasing as the concept
