In the latest news from Capcom, it looks as if two million Street Fighter IV games have been shipped worldwide. Not bad considering the franchise was pretty much born in 1989 (I know, I know -- There was Street Fighter before the sequel, but was it really as popular?). Anyway, Capcom's PR folk had this to say:

I and thousands of other gamers around the world have been waiting for this week for some time now – the console release of Capcom's next major installment in their uber-famous fighting series, Street Fighter. We've been tantalized by screenshots, videos, press releases, and first hand impressions, but for many of us, this week was the first chance we've gotten to get our hands on Street Fighter IV. TWO stores to host Street Fighter IV tournaments; both to force players to use god-awful 360 gamepad

So just in case you've missed the memo, Gamestop stores across the nation [PDF] will be hosting a Street Fighter IV tournament starting February 21 at 2 PM (for the first round). The second round is to be held a week later, with the finals taking place March 14. And if you win, you get a Limited Edition Street Fighter IV Arcade Unit.
Well, if you aren't lucky enough to have a Gamestop in your area (or if you just want to double your chances), maybe you've got a Game Crazy near you instead. If that's the case (and as long as you're at least 13 years of age), you'll be able to take part in their own SFIV tournament, happening on February 20 (the day before the Gamestop tourney). Serious

jerks may also consider attending the Game Crazy tournament, sandbagging, and then opening a can of whoop-ass the next night against the same opponents at the Gamestop event (not recommended).
Whatever your thang, you really ought to pencil these in. The newly-announced Game Crazy tournament isn't quite worth a limited-edition arcade cabinet, but $500 sounds pretty good, too, right?

Capcom is pleased to announce the first expansion pack for Street Fighter IV. Championship Mode expansion pack will add several unique and gameplay enriching options to Street Fighter IV’s already robust feature set free of charge post launch. Street Fighter IV’s Championship Mode Expansion Pack will include:
Replay Mode – Record, upload, and download top matches to share with the Street Fighter IV community. Players can analyze top tiered fighters matches, leave voter feedback for others, and share their own triumphant victories.
New Points System - Two new points systems to measure your skill (Championship and Tournament Points)
Enhanced Tournament Matching System - Skill level matching system offers improved tournament match making for beginners and mid-level players. Competitors earn Grade Points (GP) to earn entry into more advanced tournaments.
Additionally, we are announcing the DLC alternate costume expansion packs for Street Fighter IV to customize your fighters. Each DLC pack offers an alternate costume for you favorite Street Fighter IV character. The packs are grouped by themes and will be available for 320 MS points for Xbox 360 or $3.99 on PlayStation 3 post launch.
