This weekend, despite having several a variety of enticing gaming options to choose from, I ended up spending most of my time on the iPhone. I didn't expect to, but I wound up sinking eight or nine hours into a new one from Venan Arcade entitled Space Miner: Space Ore Bust. The game's got a lot more than a clever title; space shooter fans and those that like a funny story and a light, accessible but nonetheless cool RPG game will want to be sure to get this one.

THQ's popular and successful Smackdown Vs RAW series was released for the first time on the iPhone earlier this month. WWE fans looking for a wrestling fix on the go will want to look elsewhere, however. I've spent a few hours with this iPhone version and truth be told, it's got a lot of problems. I can't recommend this even to die hard wrestling fans.

Southpeak Interactive has just dropped its first entry into the App Store with Schrodinger's Rat. We've done some previous coverage of the game in the last couple of weeks, and over the past few days I've had the chance to play the game for review. If you're into accelerometer based maze games, you can't go wrong with Schrondinger's Rat, but other than that niche audience, it's hard to outright recommend.

I've been getting a lot of iPhone gaming in this holiday and recently I've spent some time with a new SHMUP from Gamelab Innovation Center entitled Roswell Fighter. Roswell Fighter is a top down, vertical scrolling shooter that has players piloting a bi-plane against endless droves of alien invaders in the 1950s. Let's take a closer look...

I've recently spent a few hours with Babel Rising, a new iPhone game from White Bird Productions and Bulky Pix. Babel Rising is a tower defense game, but not quite in your typical style. This is one of those games you can learn to play in two minutes and then you'll spend many hours enjoying. Let's take a closer look.

DJ Hero is a great idea and one that was well executed. I've been thoroughly enjoying it for several weeks now. While it's a lot more portable of a game than Guitar Hero or Rock Band, it's not nearly as convenient as having something on my phone for a quick scratch session. Enter Delicious Vinyl DJ, a new iPhone/iPod Touch exclusive title from Ten23 Software. We posted some facts and screens recently, so be sure to check those out too.

I've been looking forward to Dexter - The Game on the iPhone/iPod since first hearing about it a few months ago. Tonight, the popular Showtime series starts its fourth season, with anticipation spilling over from the fans. The first season is arguably still the best thus far, and it's events from that first season that act as the basis for the missions in The Game. Being familiar with the first season might make for a more rewarding experience, but it isn't required. Having some familiarity with the series is a great idea though, as the characters aren't explained in detail. The question is whether or not this app is something every Dexter fan needs -- and for that, let's take a closer look.

I have been drilling holes in the earth for thirty years. And I have never, *never* missed a depth that I have aimed for. And by God, I am not gonna miss this one. I will make 800 feet.

Gameloft is quickly proving to me that they are the premiere name in iPhone gaming. With past hits like Hero of Sparta, Castle of Magic, Brothers In Arms, and NFL 2010, it's no wonder that their newest title, Modern Combat: Sandstorm, was highly anticipated amongst the community. We've gotten our hands on this new military themed FPS, and just completed it this morning. Is it worth $7? Indeed it is. Lock and load!
